Maquoketa, Iowa

Maquoketa is a city in Jackson county in the U.S. state of Iowa. Located on the Maquoketa River, it is the county seat of Jackson County. U.S. Route 61 adjoins the city, which therefore benefits from traffic between Dubuque and the Quad Cities. Iowa Highways 62 and 64 also pass through the city. Maquoketa Caves State Park is located a few miles northwest of the city. The population was 6,141 at the 2010 census.

KMAQ

KMAQ is an American radio station, licensed to operate at AM 1320 and FM 95.1 from Maquoketa, Iowa. Both stations simulcast each other for about half the broadcast day. KMAQ is the area's only locally-owned and -operated radio station, with no out-of-market consultant or ownership, programmed to the needs of its community. It bears the distinction of being one of a handful of radio stations across the country today with a live, local, real-time on-air staff.

Canton, Iowa

Canton is a small unincorporated town in Jackson County, Iowa in the United States. It is located near the west county line, near the border of Jones County on the Maquoketa Caves Road where the road crosses the South Fork of the Maquoketa River. The town once had a population of approximately 2,000 people, but when the railroad bypassed Canton in favor of the city of Maquoketa, the population plummeted.
