Norman No. 1 Oil Well

Norman No. 1 Oil Well Site is the site of an abandoned oil well, located at the Northeast corner of Mill and First Steets in Neodesha, Kansas, which was drilled on November 28, 1892. According to the National Historic Landmarks program, the well signifies the beginning of development of the Mid-Continent oil field. The Norman No. 1 Oil Well Site was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974. It was further declared a National Historic Landmark in 1977.

Neodesha is a city in Wilson County, Kansas, United States. As of the 2010 census, the city population was 2,486. The name is derived from the Osage Indian word, Ni-o-sho-de, and is translated as The-Water-Is-Smoky-With-Mud.

Tri-City Airport (Kansas)

Tri-City Airport is a city-owned public-use airport located 11 nautical miles west of the central business district of Parsons, a city in Labette County, Kansas, United States. Between 1979 and 1986, PPF was served by Air Midwest operating under Eastern Airlines. The aircraft used was a 19-seat Swearingen Metroliner.

Bloody Benders

The Bloody Benders were an alleged family of serial killers who owned an inn and small general store in Labette County of southeastern Kansas from 1871 to 1873. The inn was a simple one room house divided into living quarters and the kitchen and store area. The family consisted of John Bender, his wife Mrs. Bender (later referred to as Kate, Sr. , since no one knew her given name), son John, Jr. , and daughter Kate.
