Hutchinson Air National Guard Base
Hutchinson Air National Guard Base is a closed United States Navy naval air station and a closed Air National Guard base. It is located 2 miles west-southwest of Yoder, Kansas. It was closed for all military use in 1968. The airfield was reopened in 1971 as Sunflower Aerodrome Gliderport. It is also used by the Federal Aviation Administration as a long-range radar site data-tied into the Joint Surveillance System (JSS).

Cow Creek (Kansas)
Cow Creek is a 112-mile-long stream in Rice County, Kansas. Cow Creek is a tributary of the Arkansas River; its confluence with the Arkansas is about ten miles southeast of Hutchinson, Kansas. From Lyons, Kansas, it is four miles west and one mile south. The Santa Fe Trail went over Cow Creek. Buffalo Bill Mathewson ran a trading post (known as "Buffalo Bill's Well") here at this location during the 1850s.
