International Forest of Friendship
The International Forest of Friendship is an arboretum and memorial forest beside Lake Warnock in Atchison, Kansas. It is a memorial to the men and women involved in aviation and space exploration, and open to the public daily. The forest was started in 1976 by the city of Atchison and the Ninety-Nines, an international organization of women pilots. Fay Gillis Wells is credited as founder and original co-chairman.

Mooney Creek, Kansas
Mooney Creek is an unincorporated rural community in northeastern Jefferson County, Kansas, United States. The first settler was said to be a man named Thomas Mooney, who arrived there not long after the Kansas territory was opened up for settlement in 1854. The following decades saw a large influx of German Catholic immigrants to the area. The first Catholic Church in the area, Corpus Christi, was founded in 1872. The present church was built in 1907 and still stands today.

Maur Hill Mount Academy is a coed Catholic, boarding high school in Atchison, Kansas. It is located in the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Kansas City in Kansas. The school was formed in 2003 with the merger of Maur Hill Prep School, an all-boys school, and Mount St. Scholastica Academy, an all-girls school, belonging to the Delaware Valley League. It is sponsored by St. Benedict's Abbey (monastery) and Mount St. Scholastica (convent) in Atchison, KS and is a Benedictine school.

The Atchison Storage Facility, commonly known as the "Atchison Caves" lies 50 to 150 feet (to m) below the park under the limestone bluffs that line the Missouri River Valley.
