McPherson, Kansas

McPherson is a city in and the county seat of McPherson County, Kansas, United States, in the central part of the state. As of the 2010 census, the city population was 13,155. The city is named after Union General James Birdseye McPherson, a Civil War general. It is home to McPherson College and Central Christian College.

McPherson Stadium

McPherson Stadium is a sport stadium in McPherson, Kansas. The facility is primarily used by the McPherson College Bulldogs football, soccer, and track and field teams. The stadium is also used for McPherson USD 418 (the local high school) sporting events and other community events.

Coronado Heights

Coronado Heights is a hill northwest of Lindsborg, Kansas. It is alleged to be near the place where Francisco Vasquez de Coronado gave up his search for the seven cities of gold and turned around to return to Mexico. In 1915 a professor at Bethany College in Lindsborg, found chain mail from Spanish armor at an Indian village excavation site a few miles southwest of present Coronado Heights and another Bethany College professor promoted the name of Coronado Heights for the hill.
