Gilbertsville, Kentucky

Gilbertsville is an unincorporated community in Marshall County, Kentucky, United States. Its elevation is 351 feet (107 m), and it is located at {{#invoke:Coordinates|coord}}{{#coordinates:37|1|28|N|88|17|59|W|type:city | |name= }} (37.0245003, -88.2997557). It is known as the closest village to Kentucky Dam. The town was relocated to its present site when Kentucky Dam and Kentucky Dam Village State Resort Park replaced the former site.

Smithland is a city in Livingston County, Kentucky, United States, at the confluence of the Ohio and Cumberland Rivers. The population was 401 at the 2000 census. It is the county seat of Livingston County. Smithland is part of the Paducah, KY-IL Micropolitan Statistical Area.

Cumberland River

The Cumberland River is a waterway in the southern United States. It is 688 miles long. Its tributaries are three separate forks that begin in Kentucky, and converge in its Harlan County. Martin's Fork starts in Hensley Settlement on Brush Mountain in Bell County and snakes its way north through the mountains to Baxter. Clover Fork starts on Black Mountain in Holmes Mill, near the Virginia border, and flows west in parallel with Kentucky Route 38 until it reaches Harlan.
