Green River (Kentucky)

The Green River is a 384-mile-long tributary of the Ohio River that rises in Lincoln County in south-central Kentucky. Tributaries of the Green River include the Barren River, the Nolin River, the Pond River and the Rough River. The river was named after Nathanael Greene, a general of the American Revolutionary War.

Newburgh, Indiana

Newburgh is a town in Ohio Township, Warrick County, Indiana, United States, located just east of Evansville, Indiana along the Ohio River. The population was 3,325 at the 2010 census, although the town is part of the larger Evansville metropolitan area which recorded a population of 342,815. By 1850 Newburgh was the largest riverport between Cincinnati and New Orleans, and it was the first town north of the Mason-Dixon Line to be captured by Confederate forces during the American Civil War.

Henderson County, Kentucky

Henderson County is a county located in the U.S. state of Kentucky. It was formed in 1799. As the latest census data update of 2010, the population was counted 46,250. The county seat is the City of Henderson. The county was named for Colonel Richard Henderson who originally purchased 17,000,000 acres of land from the Cherokee Indians, only to have the purchase voided by the Virginia legislature.
