Nolin River Lake
Nolin River Lake is a reservoir in Edmonson, Grayson, and Hart counties in Kentucky. It was impounded from the Nolin River by the United States Army Corps of Engineers in 1963. The Nolin River dam was authorized in 1938 as part of a flood control act. The lake varies from 2,890 acres (11.7 km²) in the winter to 5,795 acres (23.5 km²) in the summer.

The park contains a small beach, a country store, boat ramp, 32 developed campsites, 20 primitive campsites, and a playground. On May 25, 1983, Nolin Lake set a record high of 549.9 mean sea level.

Edmonson County, Kentucky
Edmonson County is a county located in the U.S. state of Kentucky. It was formed in 1826. As of 2007, the population was 11,978. It is included in the Bowling Green Metropolitan Statistical Area. Its county seat is Brownsville. The county is named for Captain John Edmonson (1764–1813), a veteran of the American Revolutionary War who was killed at the Battle of Frenchtown during the War of 1812. The sale of alcohol is currently prohibited in Edmonson County.

Shrewsbury, Kentucky
Shrewsbury is a declining rural community located within Grayson County, Kentucky, United States. In 1900, it was a settlement in its own right, but today it seems to be less well-defined, and many maps do not show it. It dates to as early as 1833, and was originally called Territory, but later renamed in honor of Judge James W. Shrewsbury. Its first postmaster was Reuben Tingle. He was succeeded by four others, until 1933, when the post office was closed.
