Battle of Tebbs Bend
The Battle of Tebbs' Bend (or Tebbs Bend or Green River) was fought on July 4, 1863, near the Green River in Taylor County, Kentucky during Morgan's Raid in the American Civil War. Despite being badly outnumbered, elements of the Union army thwarted repeated attacks by Confederate Brig. Gen. John Hunt Morgan's dismounted cavalry.

Green River Lake
Green River Lake is a 8,210-acre reservoir in Adair, Taylor, and Casey counties in Kentucky lying in the section of Kentucky known as the Highland Rim. The lake was formed by the United States Army Corps of Engineers in 1969 by impounding the Green River. The dam is an 11 mile drive equidistant from the cities of Campbellsville and Columbia. The lake is located 90 miles southeast of Louisville, KY.

Adair County High School is a U.S. high school (grades 9 to 12) in the small town of Columbia, Adair County, Kentucky. It is the county's only high school. In 2005, the school had some 746 students and 45 teachers, and was eligible for Title One support. 96% of the students were white, and the remainder included African-American, Middle Eastern and Chinese students. The FFA is the largest school club. It has won over one hundred state and national awards.
