Lewisport, Kentucky

Lewisport was formerly called "Little Yellow Banks," and was renamed Lewisport in 1839 in honor of John Lewis, one of the first permanent settlers of the area. He was an early surveyor of land between the Salt and Green Rivers. The original town plat was drafted by James and John Prentis in 1837. The town was incorporated in 1844. Logging and building of flatboats were the first chief industries there. The population was 1670 at the 2010 census.

Hancock County Airport, also known as Ron Lewis Field, is a public use airport located three nautical miles (6 km) northeast of the central business district of Lewisport, in Hancock County, Kentucky, United States. The airport opened in 2007 and it is owned by the Hancock County Airport Board.

Anderson River (Indiana)

The Anderson River is a 50.4-mile-long tributary of the Ohio River in southern Indiana in the United States. Via the Ohio, it is part of the watershed of the Mississippi River. The Anderson rises in western Crawford County in the Hoosier National Forest and flows generally southwardly through southeastern Dubois County and along the common boundary of Perry and Spencer counties, past the town of Saint Meinrad. It joins the Ohio River just downstream of the town of Troy.
