It lies across the river from Stephensport, Kentucky and just off Indiana State Road 66 above the city of Tell City, the county seat of Perry County. It is a small community that lies a few miles west of Brandenburg on KY 144 near its intersection with Rhodes Road and south of KY 144's intersection with KY 259. Hardinsburg, Kentucky

Hardinsburg is a small rural community in Breckinridge County, Kentucky. The population was 2,345 at the 2000 census. It is the county seat of Breckinridge County. By Kentucky state law, it is classified as a fifth class city. The city's namesake, Captain William Hardin, established the city as a frontier fort in 1780.

Breckinridge County, Kentucky

Breckinridge County is a county located in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. It was formed in 1799. The population was 20,059 in the 2010 Census. Its county seat is Hardinsburg, Kentucky. The county is named for John Breckinridge (1760–1806), an Kentucky Attorney General, state legislator, United States Senator, and United States Attorney General. Breckinridge County is a wet county following a local option election on January 29, 2013 but was a prohibition or dry county for the prior 105 years.
