Mercer County is a county located in the U.S. state of Kentucky. As of 2000, the population was 20,817. Its county seat is Harrodsburg. The county was formed from Lincoln County in 1786 and is named for Revolutionary War General Hugh Mercer, who was killed at the Battle of Princeton in 1777. It is a prohibition or dry county, though Harrodsburg and Pleasant Hill allow the sale of alcohol by the drink.

Young's High Bridge
Young's High Bridge is a former railroad bridge near Tyrone, Kentucky, USA, that spans the Kentucky River between Anderson County, Kentucky and Woodford County, Kentucky for the Louisville Southern Railroad. The cantilever bridge, named in honor of William Bennett Henderson Young, was constructed in 1889, and the first train crossed over on August 21, 1889. The bridge is 1,659 feet in length, is 283 feet above the river, and includes a 551 foot long cantilever span.
