Glendale, Kentucky

Glendale is an unincorporated community in Hardin County, Kentucky, United States. It is included in the Elizabethtown, Kentucky Metropolitan Statistical Area. Glendale is host to the annual Glendale Crossing Festival on the third Saturday of October. The festival is well known for the wide variety of antiques and crafts for sale. The Whistle Stop is the most famous restaurant in Glendale and is situated along the rail road.

Tonieville is a small unincorporated town in LaRue County, Kentucky, United States, in the central part of the state. The community is part of the Elizabethtown, Kentucky Metropolitan Statistical Area. Its zip code is 42748. Latitude: 37.60944 Longitude: -85.79611 Location is 37°36'34"N / 85°47'46"W It is most notable as the birthplace of Carl Brashear, the first black U.S. Navy Master Diver. The name of the town derived from two of the largest local landowners.

Abraham Lincoln Birthplace National Historical Park

Abraham Lincoln Birthplace National Historical Park preserves two farm sites where Abraham Lincoln lived as a child. In the fall of 1808, Thomas and Nancy Lincoln settled on Sinking Spring Farm. Two months later on February 12, 1809, Abraham Lincoln was born there in a one-room log cabin. Today this site bears the address of 2995 Lincoln Farm Road, Hodgenville, Kentucky. A cabin, symbolic of the one in which Lincoln was born, is preserved within a 1911, memorial building at the site.
