New Iberia is a city in and the parish seat of Iberia Parish, Louisiana, United States, 30 miles (48 km) southeast of Lafayette. In 1900, 6,815 persons lived in New Iberia; in 1910, 7,499; and in 1940, 13,747. The population was 32,623 at the 2000 census and 30,617 in 2010, a decrease of 2,006, or 6.2 percent, over the past decade. New Iberia is nearly 42 percent African American.

The New Iberia Amtrak station is a train station in New Iberia, Louisiana, United States served by Amtrak, the national railroad passenger system. The station was originally built in 1900 by the Texas and New Orleans Railroad. It also serves as the headquarters of the Louisiana and Delta Railroad. Coincidentally, the year the L&D was established, the station was listed on the National Register of Historic Places as the Southern Pacific Railroad Depot.
