The Diocese of Houma-Thibodaux is a Roman Catholic diocese in southeastern Louisiana. It comprises Terrebonne and Lafourche Parishes, the eastern part of St. Mary Parish including Morgan City, and Grand Isle in Jefferson Parish. The diocese was created on June 5, 1977, and was previously part of the Archdiocese of New Orleans. Although a small diocese in terms of area, it has a large Roman Catholic population, with approximately 126,000 Catholics. The current bishop is Most Rev. Sam G.

Houma /ˈhoʊmə/ is a city in and the parish seat of Terrebonne Parish, Louisiana, and the largest principal city of the Houma–Bayou Cane–Thibodaux Metropolitan Statistical Area. The city's powers of government have been absorbed by the parish, which is now run by the Terrebonne Parish Consolidated Government. The population was 33,727 at the 2010 census, an increase of 1,334 over the 2000 tabulation of 32,393. The city is nearly two thirds white.

Houma Terrebonne Civic Center
The Houma Terrebonne Civic Center is a 5,000-seat multi-purpose arena in Houma, Louisiana, USA, hosting local sporting events and concerts. It was opened on January 6, 1999. It was home to the Houma Bayou Bucks of the National Indoor Football League from 2002 to 2004, and the Houma Conquerors of the Southern Indoor Football League in 2009.
