Phoenix is an unincorporated community Plaquemines Parish, Louisiana. Phoenix is located on the east bank of the Mississippi River on Louisiana Highway 39, on the opposite side of the river from Myrtle Grove. It is the closest town to Fort De La Boulaye Site, a National Historic Landmark.

Mississippi River Delta

The Mississippi River Delta is the modern area of land built up by alluvium deposited by the Mississippi River as it slows down and enters the Gulf of Mexico. The deltaic process has, over the past 5,000 years, caused the coastline of south Louisiana to advance gulfward from 15 to 50 miles (24 to 80 km). It is a biologically significant region, comprising 3 million acres (12,000 km²) of coastal wetlands and 40% of the salt marsh in the contiguous United States.

Lafitte is a census-designated place (CDP) in Jefferson Parish, Louisiana, United States. The population was 1,576 at the 2000 census. It is part of the New Orleans–Metairie–Kenner Metropolitan Statistical Area. Located at the southern end of Louisiana Highway 45 along Bayou Barataria, fishing is a major part of the local economy and culture.
