Breton Sound

Breton Sound is a sound of the Gulf of Mexico and a part of the coastline of the U.S. state of Louisiana. It lies off the southeast coast of the state and is partially enclosed by the Breton Islands. Two ships in the United States Navy have been named the USS Breton after this area. On August 29, 2005, Hurricane Katrina crossed the sound before making its third landfall near Pearlington, Mississippi.

Boothville-Venice, Louisiana

Boothville-Venice is a former census-designated place (CDP) in Plaquemines Parish, Louisiana, United States, which includes the unincorporated communities of Boothville, Venice, and Orchid. The population was 2,220 at the 2000 census. For the 2010 census, Boothville-Venice was split into the CDPs of Boothville and Venice. Boothville is the most populous and northernmost of these communities, all located along Louisiana Highway 23 on the West Bank of the Mississippi River.

Venice, Louisiana

Venice is an unincorporated community and census-designated place in Plaquemines Parish, Louisiana, United States. As of the 2010 census, its population was 202. It is 77 miles south of New Orleans on the west bank of the Mississippi River at {{#invoke:Coordinates|coord}}{{#coordinates:29|16|37|N|89|21|17|W| | |name= }}. It is the last community down the Mississippi accessible by automobile, and is the southern terminus of the Great River Road.
