Stonington is a town in Hancock County, Maine, United States, located on the southern portion of the island of Deer Isle. The population was 1,043 at the 2010 census. It includes the villages of Oceanville and West Stonington. A picturesque old seaport and tourist destination on Penobscot Bay, the town is home to Stonington Municipal Airport, and terminus for mailboat ferry service to the island town of Isle au Haut.

Stonington Municipal Airport is a public airport located one mile (1.6 km) northwest of the central business district (CBD) of Stonington, a town in Hancock County, Maine, USA. The airport covers 12 acres and has one runway. It provides service to private and charter aircraft traffic only. Stonington is located on an island named Deer Isle which is only reachable by automobile via a long, narrow suspension bridge.

Vinalhaven, Maine

Vinalhaven is a town located in the Fox Islands in Knox County, Maine, United States. The population was 1,165 at the 2010 census. It is home to a thriving lobster fishery and hosts a summer colony. Since there is no bridge to the island, Vinalhaven is accessible from Rockland via an approximately hour-and-fifteen-minute ferry ride across West Penobscot Bay, or by air taxi from Knox County Regional Airport.

Vinalhaven School is a kindergarten-through-twelfth-grade public school located at 22 Arcola Lane, Vinalhaven, an island located in mid-coast Maine, 75 miles east northeast of Portland. Lane's Island

Lane's Island is an island which is part of the town of Vinalhaven in Knox County, Maine. It is approximately 45 acres in size and connected by causeway to mainland Vinalhaven. About 2/3 of the island is protected by a nature preserve. It is named after Captain Timothy Lane, an early European settler of the island.
