Farmington Canal

The Farmington Canal, also known as the New Haven and Northampton Canal, was a major private canal built in the early 19th century to provide water transportation from New Haven into the interior of Connecticut, Massachusetts and beyond. Its Massachusetts segment was known as the Hampshire and Hampden Canal. With the advent of railroads, it was quickly converted to a railroad in the mid-19th century and in recent years has been converted to a multi-use trail after being abandoned for years.

West Suffield Mountain

West Suffield Mountain, est. 710 feet, is a traprock mountain ridge located between the Berkshires and the Connecticut River Valley in north-central Connecticut. It is part of the narrow, linear Metacomet Ridge that extends from Long Island Sound near New Haven, Connecticut, north through the Connecticut River Valley of Massachusetts to the Vermont border. West Suffield Mountain is known for its scenic ledges and woodlands, unique microclimate ecosystems, and rare plant communities.

North Granby, Connecticut

North Granby is a census-designated place (CDP) in Hartford County, Connecticut, United States. The population was 1,944 at the 2010 census. The center of North Granby is today marked principally by the Cossitt Branch Library and the Allen Cider Mill.

Granby Memorial Middle School

Granby Memorial Middle School is a middle school in Granby, Connecticut for students in 7th and 8th grade. {{#invoke:Coordinates|coord}}{{#coordinates:41.9612|-72.7914||||||| |primary |name= }} In 2006 Brian Donna, a 7th grader at Granby, became the Connecticut state champion in the Readers Digest National Word Power Challenge. In 2010, GMMS won the Connecticut Middle School of the Year, but tied with Bristol for the award of the School of the Year in Connecticut.

Granby Memorial High School

Granby Memorial High School is a public high school in Granby, Connecticut. It was founded in 1957 to accommodate the town's growing population. The school is commonly known as "Home of the Bears" and is a member of the NCCC Athletic Conference, where its athletic teams have won a number of championships. The high school's current principal is Dr. Patricia Law. The high school's former principal, Alan Addley, is currently the district's superintendent.
