Guiding Star Grange

The Guiding Star Grange, located in Greenfield, Massachusetts, was the first grange organized in the state in 1873. It is one of the few local Grange associations in New England with a steadily growing membership and vibrant community. The grange hall serves the town and the region with a variety of community uses. It is most well known for the traditional music and social dance events held nearly every Friday and Saturday night. It is a widely known regional center for contra dance events.

Catamount, Massachusetts

Catamount is a former village of Colrain, Massachusetts. In 1812, the schoolhouse that once stood in Catamount was the first to fly the United States Flag. From the mid 18th century until the late 19th century, Catamount was mainly a farming community. Nearby Pocumtuck Mountain was often a popular destination for people around the state. In 1880, the Old Home Days festival on Pocumtuck Mountain was visited by Massachusetts Governor John Davis Long.

Gill–Montague Bridge

The Gill–Montague Bridge is a steel deck truss bridge crossing the Connecticut River in Massachusetts. It connects the Town of Gill with the village of Turners Falls in the Town of Montague. The bridge carries automobile and pedestrian traffic.

Turners Falls Canal

The Turners Falls Canal, also historically known as the Montague Canal, was a canal along the Connecticut River in Montague, Massachusetts. It was reconstructed in 1869 and is now known as the Power Canal. The canal was first completed in 1798 by the Proprietors of the Upper Locks and Canals on Connecticut River under a charter granted on February 23, 1792, by the Massachusetts legislature and Governor John Hancock.
