Millay Colony for the Arts

The Millay Colony for the Arts is an artist residency program in Austerlitz, New York. The colony offers one month residencies to visual artists, writers, poets and composers. The Millay Colony for the Arts was founded in 1973 by Norma Millay Ellis, sister of the poet Edna St. Vincent Millay, and her husband, Charles Frederick Ellis, a painter and actor. The colony is located at Steepletop, the property where the poet Edna St. Vincent Millay (1892–1950) lived and wrote for 25 years.

Queechy Lake

Queechy Lake is a lake in Canaan, Columbia County, New York. Situated near the Massachusetts state border, the lake is 40 feet deep and contains a surface area of 141 acres . The name comes from the Native American Mahican name Quis-sich-kook, of unknown meaning. The lake is located near two major roads, New York State Route 295 and New York State Route 22.

Kripalu Center

The Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health is a non-profit organization that operates a health and yoga retreat in Stockbridge, Massachusetts. Its 160,000-square-foot facility is a former Jesuit novitiate and juniorate seminary built in 1957. The center has described itself as North America's largest residential facility for holistic health and education. It employed about 626 people as of 2008 and can accommodate more than 650 overnight guests.

Stockbridge Bowl

Stockbridge Bowl is a 372-acre artificially impounded body of water that is 4 km (2.5 mi) north of the village of Stockbridge, Massachusetts. A variant name is Lake Mahkeenac. The lake is 1 ¾ miles long, about ¾ miles wide, and its shoreline totals six miles (10 km), two miles (3 km) of which are owned by the Town of Stockbridge. Stockbridge Bowl is drained by Larrywaug Brook, which is tributary to the Housatonic River. At its deepest, the lake is 44 feet deep.
