Coast Guard Station Menemsha

United States Coast Guard Station (Small) Menemsha is a United States Coast Guard station located in Menemsha, Massachusetts, within the town of Chilmark. The United States Life-Saving Service (a forerunner to the Coast Guard) established a station at Gay Head in 1895. In 1952, the Coast Guard station located at Cuttyhunk was moved by barge to Menemsha, replacing the Gay Head station. The station was not renamed Menemsha, however, until 1974.

Menemsha is a small fishing village located in the town of Chilmark on the island of Martha's Vineyard in Dukes County, Massachusetts, United States. It is located on the east coast of Menemsha Pond, adjacent to the opening into the Vineyard Sound on the pond's northern end.

Nomans Land (Massachusetts)

Nomans Land (also mapped "No Man's Land" or "No Mans Land" or "No Man's island") is an uninhabited island 612 acres (2.477 km²) in size, located in the town of Chilmark, Dukes County, Massachusetts, USA. It is situated about three miles (5 km) off the southwest corner of the island of Martha's Vineyard. The island likely has unexploded ordnance dating from its role as a practice bombing range from 1943-1996. Consequently, the island is closed to the public.

No Man's Land Navy Airfield

No Man's Land Navy Airfield was an operational United States Navy airfield from 1943 to 1950s. The airfield is located on Nomans Land island, about three miles (5 km) off the southwest corner of the island of Martha's Vineyard, Massachusetts. When it was rarely used, it was only to support propeller aircraft.
