Haymarket North Extension
The Haymarket North Extension is an underground crossing of the Charles River which carries the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority's Orange Line. The term is also applied to the rerouting of the northern section of the Orange Line, which opened in 4 stages starting on April 7, 1975 and concluding on March 20, 1977. The rerouting moved the north end of the Orange line into a new tunnel under the Charles, then along the Haverhill Line right-of-way to Oak Grove.

Malden River
The Malden River is a 2.3-mile-long river in Malden, Medford, and Everett, Massachusetts. It is roughly 675 feet wide at its widest point and is very narrow at its smallest point. Its banks are largely occupied by industrial business, and the river is scarcely used or even mentioned. Its water quality is worse than most local waters, including the Mystic River, into which it flows. Most agree that the river is under-utilized.
