Lake Allegan
Lake Allegan is an all-sports lake located in Valley Township just outside of the city of Allegan in the U.S. state of Michigan. The lake has a large surface area of almost 1,600 acres (2.5 mi², 6.475 km²). The lake is known for producing a variety of fish including perch, bluegill, bass, catfish, carp, walleye, and northern pike. Salmon runs occur on the western side of Lake Allegan's Calkins Bridge dam which leads to Lake Michigan via the Kalamazoo River.

Allegan is an H chondrite meteorite that fell to earth on July 10, 1899 in Michigan, United States. It belongs to the petrologic type 5. As of 1964, it was one of only seven known meteorites to land in Michigan. Allegan weighed around fifty pounds after its landing.

Allegan, Michigan
Allegan is a city in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 4,998 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Allegan County. The city lies within Allegan Township, but is administratively autonomous. Allegan was named by Michigan historian Henry Rowe Schoolcraft in 1837 to sound like a Native American word. Land was purchased from government to form the downtown business district; village organization came in 1838 with city incorporation authorized in 1907.
