Marenisco Township is a civil township of Gogebic County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 1,051 at the 2000 census. The unincorporated community of Marenisco is within the township on the Presque Isle River near the junction of U.S. Highway 2 and M-64 at {{#invoke:Coordinates|coord}}{{#coordinates:46|22|35|N|89|41|47|W| | |name= }}. Wakefield is about 15 miles northwest and Watersmeet about 27 miles southeast on US 2.

Gogebic County, Michigan
Gogebic County is the westernmost county in the Upper peninsula in the U.S. state of Michigan. As of the 2010 census, the population was 16,427. The county seat is Bessemer. The county was set off and organized in 1867. It had been part of Ontonagon County. The name is said to be derived from the Ojibwe word "bic" which most references interpret as "rock. " Alternatively, it is claimed to be derived from Lake Agogebic, later changed to Lake Gogebic. See List of Michigan county name etymologies.
