Lapeer County, Michigan

Lapeer County is a county in the U.S. state of Michigan. As of the 2010 census, the population was 88,319. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, it is part of Metro Detroit, but is also considered part of the Metro Flint area. The county seat is Lapeer. The county was created on September 18, 1822, and was fully organized on February 2, 1835. The name is an anglicization of the French la pierre, which means "flint" or "flint stone. Barnes Lake-Millers Lake, Michigan

Barnes Lake-Millers Lake is a census-designated place (CDP) within Deerfield Township, Lapeer County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The CDP is used for statistical purposes and has no legal status as a municipality. The population was 1,187 at the 2000 census. The CDP area is centered around two small lakes in north-central Lapeer County: Barnes Lake and Millers Lake . M-24 runs between the lakes, with Barnes Lake on the east and Millers Lake on the west.

WMPC

WMPC (1230 AM) is a radio station broadcasting a Religious format. Licensed to Lapeer, Michigan, it first began broadcasting in 1926. WMPC is owned and operated by the Calvary Bible Church of Lapeer, Michigan. The station began broadcasting on December 6, 1926 from a homemade transmitter in the Methodist Protestant Church. In fact thats where WMPC gets its name. Later the church changed its name to the Calvary Bible Church.
