Marenisco Township is a civil township of Gogebic County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 1,051 at the 2000 census. The unincorporated community of Marenisco is within the township on the Presque Isle River near the junction of U.S. Highway 2 and M-64 at {{#invoke:Coordinates|coord}}{{#coordinates:46|22|35|N|89|41|47|W| | |name= }}. Lake Gogebic
Lake Gogebic is the largest lake of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. It is located within the 1 million acre (4,000 km²) Ottawa National Forest. Lake Gogebic State Park is located along its western shore. It is in the far western end of the Upper Peninsula, close to the Wisconsin Border, and in parts of two counties, Gogebic County and Ontonagon County. The lake is also in two time zones, central and eastern.

Clark Lake is one of about two dozen clear, clean lakes located in the Sylvania Wilderness of Ottawa National Forest a few miles (6 to 8 km) to the west of the town of Watersmeet. The shoreline is undeveloped except for a picnic area and boat launch at the northern end. The lake possesses several islands and numerous bays and coves.

Loon Lake is one of about two dozen clear, clean lakes located in a special wilderness area known as the Sylvania Wilderness, which in turn is located within the Ottawa National Forest a few miles to the west of the town of Watersmeet. The shoreline is completely undeveloped, and surrounded by virgin timber consisting mainly of hemlock and pine. This remote, spring-fed lake is noted for its rugged beauty.
