Ida Township is a civil township of Monroe County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 4,949 at the 2000 census. The township was organized in 1837 and was named after Ida M. Taylor, a local civic leader. The township is served by Ida Public Schools.

Ida Public Schools

Ida Public Schools is a public school district in Ida, Michigan. The district includes all of Ida Township and a large portion of Raisinville Township. Being centrally located in Monroe County, Ida Public Schools also serves portions of several other townships. The district, which serves approximately 1,600 students, consists of three schools on one main campus just off of Lewis Avenue in a sparsely populated and rural area.

Monroe County Community College

Monroe County Community College (MCCC) is a public community college located just west of the city of Monroe, Michigan with another building, the Whitman Center, located in Temperance. The main campus itself is just south of M-50 within Monroe Charter Township. MCCC was founded in 1964 and is the only higher education institution in Monroe County. While the college was established in 1964, it did not open for students until 1967.
