Monroe County Community College

Monroe County Community College (MCCC) is a public community college located just west of the city of Monroe, Michigan with another building, the Whitman Center, located in Temperance. The main campus itself is just south of M-50 within Monroe Charter Township. MCCC was founded in 1964 and is the only higher education institution in Monroe County. While the college was established in 1964, it did not open for students until 1967.

Stock Arena

Glenn F. Stock Arena is a 2,000-seat indoor arena located in Monroe, Michigan. It is used for sporting events, concerts, conventions, and trade shows. It is part of the Monroe County Fairgrounds. Stock Arena is also used for graduation ceremonies of Monroe County's high schools. The arena measures 174 feet wide by 252 feet long with a 40-foot -high ceiling.

WYDM

WYDM (97.5 FM, "Dream 97-5") is a high school radio station broadcasting a gold-based adult contemporary music format. Licensed to Monroe, Michigan, it first began broadcasting under the WEJY call sign. WYDM is run by students from Monroe County Community College, and is located on the grounds of Monroe High School. The station actively works to promote local, non-profit organizations as a service to the community, and is Monroe's only locally located and programmed station.

Ida Public Schools

Ida Public Schools is a public school district in Ida, Michigan. The district includes all of Ida Township and a large portion of Raisinville Township. Being centrally located in Monroe County, Ida Public Schools also serves portions of several other townships. The district, which serves approximately 1,600 students, consists of three schools on one main campus just off of Lewis Avenue in a sparsely populated and rural area.
