The region was inhabited by Ottawas, Chippewas and Potawatomie tribes prior to European Settlement.

RiverTown Crossings is a two story shopping mall in Grandville, Michigan . Opened in 1999, the mall was developed by General Growth Properties of Chicago, Illinois. It opened with five anchors: Sears, Hudson's, Kohl's, Younkers and JCPenney. Barnes & Noble was also featured as a junior anchor. Galyan's and Old Navy opened a few months later.
