Mullett Township, Michigan
Mullett Township is a civil township of Cheboygan County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 1,284 at the 2000 census. Both the township and Mullett Lake are named for John Mullett, who surveyed much of the area between 1840 and 1843. When Mullett Township was created by the Michigan Legislature, it was spelled Mullet—a spelling that was widely used in early maps and documents.

Cheboygan County is a county in the U.S. state of Michigan. As of the 2000 census, the population was 26,448. The county seat is Cheboygan. The name of the county shares the same origin as that of the Cheboygan River, although the precise meaning is no longer known. It may have come from an Ojibwe word zhaabonigan meaning "sewing needle". Alternatively, the origin may have been "Chabwegan," meaning "a place of ore".

Mullett Lake
Mullett Lake is a lake in Cheboygan County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The lake is named after John Mullett, who, together with William A. Burt, made a federal survey of the area from 1840 to 1843. A neighboring lake was named after Burt. Historically, Mullett Lake has been recorded as Mullet Lake, Mullet's Lake, and Mullett's Lake on maps and documents.
