Mize, Mississippi
Mize is a town in Smith County, Mississippi. The population was 285 at the 2000 census. On April 6, 2005, an F-3 tornado struck Mize High School. The school's second floor was ripped off by sheer force of wind and the entire structure was severely damaged. Reconstruction efforts were completed in 2007. Football player Eugene Sims is a native of Mize, as was Prentiss Walker, the first Republican to represent Mississippi in the U.S. House of Representatives since Reconstruction.

West Jones High School, the "Home of the Mustangs," is a public school in Laurel, Mississippi, part of the Jones County School District. The school provides education to grades 9-12. The school was named the state's Tech Prep Exemplary Site for 2002-2003 by the Tech Prep Exemplary Site Selection Committee. The school has become the high school of choice for most Jones County parents. A great academic school with high test scores and a great athletic program.
