Ross Barnett Reservoir

The Ross Barnett Reservoir (colloquially known as "The Rez") is an impoundment of the Pearl River between Madison and Rankin Counties in the U.S. state of Mississippi. The 33,000-acre lake serves as the state's largest drinking water resource, and is managed by the Pearl River Valley Water Supply District. The lake features 105 miles of shoreline impounded on the south by a 3.5-mile man-made dam and spillway. The western shore is bounded by the historic Natchez Trace Parkway.

Canton, Mississippi

Canton is a city in Madison County, Mississippi. The population was 12,911 at the 2000 census. It is the county seat of Madison County, and situated in the northern part of the metropolitan area surrounding the state capital, Jackson. Much of Canton is on the National Register of Historic Places. The courthouse square is a historic shopping district and host to the Canton Flea Market. The east side of town is a large part of the historic district with many homes.

Gluckstadt, Mississippi

Gluckstadt is an unincorporated community in Madison County, Mississippi. The community is located along Interstate 55 in south central Madison County, between the cities of Canton and Madison. It is part of the Jackson Metropolitan Statistical Area. Gluckstadt was established in June 1905 by several German Catholic families from Klaasville, Indiana. The community's name translated into English means "Lucky Town. " There is also a town in Germany that has the name Glückstadt.
