Jerome, Missouri

Jerome is an unincorporated community in western Phelps County, Missouri. It is located on Gasconade River near Interstate 44 and is about ten miles west of Rolla near the edge of the Mark Twain National Forest. Jerome is protected by the Doolittle rural fire department. Family lore states that Jerome, Missouri was founded by Jerome Ledgerwood as he was employed by a railroad to establish a station there.

Powellville, Missouri

Powellville is a former town on U.S. Highway 66, now an outer road of Interstate 44 in Phelps County, Missouri, United States. It is located about twelve miles (19 km) west of Rolla. Nothing remains of the town. Powellville was constructed in the late 1920s or early 1930s, with a small motel to serve the drivers of Powell Brothers Truck Line. They traveled from southwest Missouri to St. Louis with freight.

Arlington, Missouri

Arlington is a ghost town in western Phelps County, Missouri, United States, along a county road that was once U.S. Route 66. The town found its prosperity in the mid-19th century. Located near Rolla on the Ozark Plateau, all that remains of the once-booming town is a caravan park.
