Albatross, Missouri
Albatross is an unincorporated community in Lawrence County, Missouri, United States. It lies near the intersection of Route 96 and Route 39, about six miles (10 km) north of Mount Vernon. The town was founded after the creation of US 66, something unique with all the little towns lining current Route 96. Several businesses lined US 66 until the building of Interstate 44 to the south, but it still has a few active businesses due to the intersection of the current Route 39 and Route 96.

Heatonville, Missouri
Heatonville is a small unincorporated community in Lawrence County, Missouri, United States. It lies along former U.S. Route 66 about six miles (10 km) north-east of Mount Vernon. The town was founded in 1868 as the town of Heaton and later renamed. The coming of Route 66 brought numerous businesses to life in Heatonville until the building of Interstate 44 to the south, which brought the town down to a single business and a few homes.

Phelps, Missouri
Phelps is an unincorporated community in Lawrence County, Missouri, United States. It lies along former U.S. Route 66 twenty-one miles east of Carthage. Phelps dates back to the 1830s, a town on the old Carthage Road (later US 66). It was a fairly large town by the 1870s until a fire wiped out everything south of Carthage Road. It went through a building boom in 1926 with Carthage Road becoming Route 66. In 1955, US 66 was widened which razed all the business on the south side of the highway.
