Nishnabotna River

The Nishnabotna River is a tributary of the Missouri River in southwestern Iowa, northwestern Missouri and southeastern Nebraska in the United States. It flows for most of its length as two parallel streams in Iowa, the East Nishnabotna River and the West Nishnabotna River. The east and west branches are each about 120 miles long; from their confluence the Nishnabotna flows approximately another 16 miles . Several sections of the rivers' courses have been straightened and heavily channelized.

Watson is a village in Nishnabotna Township, Atchison County, Missouri, United States. The population was 100 at the 2010 census. It is the westernmost settlement in the state of Missouri.

McKissick Island

McKissick Island (also known as McKissick's Island) is a former 5,000 acre island in the Missouri River that is part of Nemaha County, Nebraska but is now east of Nebraska's normal eastern border and can only be reached by land from Nebraska by going through Missouri. It is sometimes described as a Nebraska enclave in Missouri although it is not a true enclave since it is physically attached through the river to Nebraska.

Peru State College

Peru State College is a public four-year liberal arts institution located in Peru, Nebraska, in the Midwest region of the United States. Founded by members of the Methodist Episcopal Church in 1865, making it the first and oldest institution in Nebraska, it would undergo several name changes before receiving its current name.
