Washington County is a county located in the U.S. state of Nebraska. As of 2010, the population was 20,234. Its county seat is Blair. It is one of five Nebraska counties in the eight-county Omaha-Council Bluffs Metropolitan Statistical Area. In the Nebraska license plate system, Washington County is represented by the prefix 29 (it had the twenty-ninth largest number of vehicles registered in the county when the license plate system was established in 1922).

Dana College

Dana College is a now defunct baccalaureate college located in Blair, Nebraska. Its rural 150-acre (607,000 m²) campus is approximately 25 miles (40 km) northwest of Omaha, and overlooks a portion of the Missouri River Valley. The name “Dana” is the poetic variant of “Denmark. ” The college was founded in 1884 by Danish pioneers.
