Galena, Nevada
Galena is the name of 2 locations in Nevada: In Washoe County, Nevada, south of Reno. The portion of Reno just south of Mount Rose Highway and west of Steamboat Springs is also known as Galena. {{#invoke:Coordinates|coord}}{{#coordinates:39|20|59|N|119|47|19|W| | |name= }} Galena was developed as a mining property in 1860, and also became an important lumbering center, with eleven sawmills operating by 1863. The town was abandoned after 1867, following two disastrous fires.

Galena Creek Bridge
The Galena Creek Bridge is a twin-span concrete arch bridge in Washoe County, Nevada. The bridge carries Interstate 580 and U.S. Route 395 between Carson City and Reno. It was opened to traffic in late August 2012. The bridge has a total length of 1,725 feet and main span length of 689 feet . The height is 295 feet . The bridge is reportedly the largest cathedral arch bridge in the world; that is a type of open-spandrel deck arch bridge where the arch supports the deck only at the center.

Galena High School is a public secondary school in Southwest Reno, Nevada that is a part of the Washoe County School District. The school mascot is the Grizzly Bear, and the school's colors are black and gold. Their sports teams are known as the "Galena Grizzlies". Reno–Tahoe Open
The Reno–Tahoe Open is a professional golf tournament on the PGA Tour in northwestern Nevada. Founded in 1999, it is an alternate event played annually in August at the Montrêux Golf and Country Club, located midway between Reno and Lake Tahoe. Opened in 1997, the par-72 course was designed by Jack Nicklaus and plays at 7,472 yards; its average elevation is 5,600 feet above sea level with an elevation change of 800 feet .

Steamboat Springs, Nevada
Steamboat Springs is a small volcanic field of rhyolitic lava domes and flows in western Nevada, USA, located south of Reno. There is extensive geothermal activity in the area, including numerous hot springs, steam vents, and fumaroles. The state of Nevada has a Steamboat Springs Historical Marker (#198) situated along the eastern shoulder of the busy Reno-Carson Highway, approximately 1.65 miles (2.66 km) south of Tahoe Junction.
