Province Lake
Province Lake is a 967-acre water body located on the border between New Hampshire and Maine in the United States. Approximately 950 acres of the lake lie in the towns of Effingham and Wakefield, New Hampshire, with the remainder in Parsonsfield, Maine. Its outlet is the South River, flowing north to the Ossipee River, a tributary of the Saco River. Province Lake's maximum depth is between 15 to 17 feet, quite shallow for a New Hampshire lake, so there are no coldwater fish within.

The South River is a 10.6 mile long river in eastern New Hampshire and western Maine in the United States. It is a tributary of the Ossipee River, which flows east to the Saco River and ultimately the Atlantic Ocean. The South River begins at the outlet of Province Lake in the town of Effingham, New Hampshire and proceeds north past the village of Center Effingham. Jogging east, the river enters Parsonsfield, Maine, then turns north again to reach the Ossipee River.

It is a tributary of the Pine River, part of the Ossipee Lake / Saco River watershed leading to the Atlantic Ocean. The Beech River begins at the outlet of Upper Beech Pond in the northern part of Wolfeboro, New Hampshire. The river flows north for one mile and enters Lower Beech Pond in the town of Tuftonboro.
