Squam Lake
Squam Lake is a lake located in central New Hampshire, USA, south of the White Mountains, straddling the borders of Grafton, Carroll, and Belknap counties. It drains via a short natural channel into Little Squam Lake, and then through a dam at the head of the short Squam River into the Pemigewasset at Ashland.

Early maps refer to this pristine lake as Long Pond, presumably because of its long and narrow shape. The lake is located one-half mile north of and nine vertical feet higher than Lake Winnipesaukee.

Proctor Wildlife Sanctuary
Proctor Wildlife Sanctuary is a protected area maintained by the New Hampshire Audubon Society. It is located in Center Harbor, New Hampshire. The sanctuary is 47 acres of second generation woodlands that has about two miles (3 km) of hiking trails. The land was donated to the New Hampshire Audubon Society in memory of Jean K. Proctor in 1975.
