Washington Township is a township in Gloucester County, New Jersey, United States. In the 2010 United States Census, the township's population was 48,559, reflecting an increase of 1,445 (+3.1%) from the 47,114 counted in the 2000 Census, which had in turn increased by 5,154 (+12.3%) from the 41,960 counted in the 1990 Census. Washington Township was incorporated by an Act of the New Jersey Legislature on February 17, 1836, from portions of Deptford Township.

Hurffville School
Hurffville Elementary School is one of the oldest schools in the Washington Township Public School District in Washington Township, in Gloucester County, New Jersey. Built in 1957, Hurffville was designed as an open-air environment school. The school originally housed kindergarten through 6th grades, but as population increased, it was reduced to 2nd through 6th and then 1st through 5th grades. In 1988, the school had hallways installed.
