Ocean Grove, New Jersey
Ocean Grove is an unincorporated community and a census-designated place (CDP) located within Neptune Township, Monmouth County, New Jersey, United States. It had a population of 3,342 at the 2010 United States Census. It is located on the Atlantic Ocean Jersey Shore, between Asbury Park to the north and Bradley Beach to the south. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, Ocean Grove is noted for its abundant examples of Victorian architecture.

Down the Street
Down the Street was a popular nightclub in Asbury Park, New Jersey. It opened in the 1970s under the name "Visions". The club was one of the state's first gay discos. The name was changed because it was located down the street from other popular gay clubs. It housed a dance floor, bars, light shows, and of course, drag contests. The club even earned Asbury Park the nicknames "Gay riveria on the East Coast" and "the budget Cherry Grove.

Tillie
Tillie is the nickname of two murals of a grinning figure that were painted on the side of the Palace Amusements building in Asbury Park, New Jersey, United States. Tillie is an amusement park "fun face," painted over the winter of 1955-1956. The name Tillie is likely a nod to George C. Tilyou, the owner of Steeplechase Park in Coney Island, NY. A similar grinning face was featured on Steeplechase Park signage.

The Empress Hotel (New Jersey)
The Empress Hotel, located in Asbury Park, New Jersey, is a popular gay resort. The Hotel opened as a luxury resort for vacationing families in the 1960s. It was a successful resort, attracting the likes of Judy Garland and Liza Minnelli. In 1980, the Empress was featured on the picture sleeve of Bruce Springsteen's hit single "Hungry Heart", which depicts a photo of Springsteen standing near a phone booth on the Asbury Park boardwalk, with the hotel visible in the background.

The Stone Pony
The Stone Pony, located in Asbury Park, New Jersey, is one of the world's best known music venues. It is known as a starting point for many musicians, including New Jersey natives Bruce Springsteen, Patti Scialfa, Jon Bon Jovi, and Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes.
