Sea Isle City, New Jersey

Sea Isle City is a city in Cape May County, New Jersey, United States. It is part of the Ocean City Metropolitan Statistical Area. As of the 2010 United States Census, the city's population was 2,114, reflecting an decline of 721 (-25.4%) from the 2,835 counted in the 2000 Census, which had in turn increased by 143 (+5.3%) from the 2,692 counted in the 1990 Census. Visitors raise the population to as much as 40,000 during the peak summer season from Memorial Day to Labor Day.

Ludlam's Beach Light

Ludlam's Beach Light was a lighthouse formerly located in Sea Isle City, New Jersey. It was decommissioned in 1924 and converted to a private residence which was demolished in September 2010.

Leaming's Run Gardens

Leaming's Run Gardens (30 acres) are flower gardens located at 1845 US Route 9 North, Swainton, in Middle Township, New Jersey. The gardens are open daily, May 15th - October 20th. An admission fee is charged. The gardens were designed and created by Jack and Emily Aprill and children, and opened to the public in 1977. At present, Leaming's Run Gardens claims to be the largest annual flower garden in the United States.

Ludlam Island

Ludlam Island is a barrier island in southern New Jersey, on which Sea Isle City, and Strathmere, a part of Upper Township are located. Joseph Ludlam purchased the island in the late 17th century, and grazed cows and sheep on it. In the 1880s, developer Charles K. Landis founded the City of Sea Isle on the island. The original vision that Landis had of Ludlam Island was modeled after Venice’s opulent waterways and his plan for the island included canals and waterways.

Dennis Creek

Dennis Creek is an 8.8-mile-long tributary of Delaware Bay in Cape May County, New Jersey in the United States. It originates in the Great Cedar Swamp to the southeast of Dennisville, New Jersey. Passing between Dennisville and South Dennis, it descends into the tidal marshes and joins Sluice Creek and thereafter forms the boundary between Dennis and Middle Townships. Further below, the channel of Roaring Ditch directs much of the flow of East Creek into Dennis Creek before reaching the bay.
