Millburn, New Jersey

Millburn is a township in Essex County, New Jersey, United States. As of the 2010 United States Census, the township's population was 20,149, reflecting an increase of 384 (+1.9%) from the 19,765 counted in the 2000 Census, which had in turn increased by 1,135 (+6.1%) from the 18,630 counted in the 1990 Census. Millburn was created as a township by an act of the New Jersey Legislature on March 20, 1857, from portions of Springfield Township, when Union County was formed.

Hobart Gap

The Hobart Gap is a strategic pass and road through the Watchung Mountains in Northern New Jersey. The confluence of the two branches of the Rahway River is located here. During the American Revolutionary War, Hessian General Baron Wilhelm von Knyphausen attempted to seize the Hobart Gap, now crossed by present-day Route 24, in order to attack the American headquarters in Morristown for the British.

Slough Brook

Slough Brook is a tributary of the Passaic River in Essex County, New Jersey in the United States. Slough Brook flows through a residential area of central Livingston, mostly filled in or culvertised, with streets now covering what was once the course of the stream. Also, most of the water from this stream was drained to fill a small pond at the Livingston Memorial Park. The stream at its deepest point is no more than 6 inches (15 cm) deep.
