As of the 2010 United States Census, the CDP population was 4,554. Beattystown is listed as one the 10 most endangered historic sites in New Jersey by Preservation New Jersey. Upper Pohatcong Mountain

Upper Pohatcong Mountain is a ridge in the Appalachian Mountains of northwestern New Jersey in the United States. It is located in eastern Warren County, and extends northeast of Washington approximately 6 mi (10 km) to the vicinity of Hackettstown. The ridge has an average height of approximately 800 ft (240 m) and reaches a maximum summit of 1235 ft (374 m). The ridge is the northeast continuation of Pohatcong Mountain south of Washington.

As of the 2010 United States Census, the township's population was 18,533, reflecting an increase of 941 (+5.3%) from the 17,592 counted in the 2000 Census, which had in turn increased by 2,000 (+12.8%) from the 15,592 counted in the 1990 Census. \tIt's one of six municipalities (five of which are townships) in the state of New Jersey with the name Washington. Centenary College of New Jersey

Centenary College was founded in 1867 by the Newark Conference of the United Methodist Church. Centenary has evolved from a coeducational preparatory school to a girls' preparatory school (1910), to a Junior college for women (1940), to a four-year women's college (1976), to a coeducational baccalaureate-degree-granting institution (1988) and finally to a master-degree-granting institution (1995).
