The South River is a 16.3-mile-long tributary of the Great Egg Harbor River in Atlantic County, New Jersey in the United States. It rises in Richland and joins the Great Egg Harbor River approximately 3.7 miles downstream of Mays Landing. A short outlet has been cut from the South River to the Great Egg Harbor River across from Catawba, allowing water traffic to bypass the lower part of the river paralleling the Great Egg Harbor.

The Atlantic County Institute of Technology (ACIT) is a four-year countywide vocational public high school serving students from Atlantic County, New Jersey, United States, as part of the Atlantic County Vocational School District. ACIT is located on a 58-acre campus in the Mays Landing area of Hamilton Township. The school was constructed in 1974 and underwent a major renovation in 1994.
