Mohawk Airlines Flight 411, a Fairchild FH-227B twin-engine turboprop, registered N7811M, was a scheduled domestic passenger service operated by Mohawk Airlines, between Albany and Glens Falls, New York. WNYV is a radio station broadcasting an Adult contemporary music format. Licensed to Whitehall, New York, USA, the station serves the Saratoga, New York area. The station is currently owned by Pine Tree Broadcasting Company. WNYV and its AM sister, WVNR in Poultney, simulcast 100% of the time and go by the on-air slogan of "Lakes Region Radio". WVNR/WNYV are unusual in that while stations are authorized to broadcast 24 hours a day, the stations sign off every day at midnight.

Battle of Fort Anne

The Battle of Fort Anne, fought on July 8, 1777, was an engagement between Continental Army forces in retreat from Fort Ticonderoga and forward elements of John Burgoyne's much larger British army that had driven them from Ticonderoga, early in the Saratoga campaign of the American Revolutionary War. Burgoyne, surprised by the American withdrawal from Fort Ticonderoga, hurried as many of his troops as possible forward in pursuit of the retreating Americans.

Hadlock Pond

Hadlock Pond also known as Lake Hadlock, is a small man-made reservoir formed on a tributary of Halfway Creek in the town of Fort Ann in Washington County, New York, United States. The pond is also referred to as Sunderland Pond. Constructed in 1896, the original dam was of earthen construction, or rock fill. It had a height of 29 feet, with a width of 850 feet . The dam was reconstructed in 2005, only to collapse months later, flooding and damaging nearby property.

Washington Correctional Facility

Washington Correctional Facility is a medium security correctional facility that is located in Comstock, a hamlet in the Town of Fort Ann in Washington County, New York. It is designated for confinement of males age 16 and older. The facility offers volunteer and counciling services, and educational and vocational programs. As of February 27, 2009, this facility is currently housing Michael Alig, a criminal who was convicted of the manslaughter of Angel Melendez on October 24, 1997.
