New York’s Orange County Airport is an untowered general aviation airport located 1 mile (2 km) southwest of village of Montgomery, in the Town of Montgomery, New York. The 526 acre (2.1 km²) airport is owned by Orange County and can be found at the junction of state highways 211 and NY-416. It is a popular place for aspiring local pilots to learn to fly or practice their skills. With 125,000 takeoffs and landings annually, it is New York's second-busiest general-aviation airport.

Bodine's Bridge
Bodine's Bridge carries NY 211 across the Wallkill River, a mile (1.6 km) south (west by the highway's signed direction) of the village of Montgomery, New York, USA, near Orange County Airport. At 340 feet (103 m) in length, the steel through truss is the longest bridge along Route 211. The current bridge was built in 1933, and reconstructed in 1970.

Winding Hills Park
Winding Hills Park is located off NY 17K in the Comfort Hills two miles (3.2 km) west of the village of Montgomery, New York, United States, straddling the Montgomery-Crawford town line. It is a 502-acre area centered around 40-acre Diamond Lake that is primarily used for outdoor recreation. Much of the park is wooded, with some clear areas around the roads. The hills slope up to the east, and the terrain to the north and west remains gently rolling.

Ward's Bridge
Ward's Bridge carries NY 17K across the Wallkill River at the western end of the village of Montgomery in Orange County, New York, USA. It is named, as its predecessors were, for James Ward, an early settler in the area who established his grist mill on what is now the village side and built the first bridge in the mid-18th century. Originally, Montgomery was even called Ward's Bridge, and today a nearby restaurant calls itself the Ward's Bridge Inn.

Valley Central Middle School educates students in grades 6-8 in the Valley Central School District in Orange County, New York. It is located on NY 17K just east of the village of Montgomery, connected to adjacent Valley Central High School. The school's 1,213 students come from not only the village and town of Montgomery but Walden and Maybrook as well. The school was originally named Valley Central Junior High School and educated grades 7-9.
