Long Lake (New York)

Long Lake is a 14-mile lake in the town of Long Lake in Hamilton County, New York in the United States; the average width is half a mile. It is part of the Raquette River, which flows in a straight, northeast-trending valley. NY 30 crosses at a narrows 4 miles from the south end where the hamlet of Long Lake is located. There are two public beaches and a state boat launch. More than half of the shoreline is part of the New York State Forest preserve. The northern end of the lake is undeveloped.

Long Lake, New York

Long Lake is a town in Hamilton County, New York in the United States. The population was 711 at the 2010 census. The town is named for 14-mile long Long Lake beside which it sits. The town is entirely within the Adirondack Park and is the most northerly town in the county. It is a summer tourism destination offering fishing, hiking, boating, and many other outdoor activities. In the winter months, snowmobiling is also popular.

Adirondack Hotel

Adirondack Hotel is a hotel in Long Lake, New York, located on New York State Route 30. It was built in the 1850s but it burnt down, and was rebuilt in 1900. The hotel has two verandas with a view of 14 miles of Long Lake.

Adirondack Park

The Adirondack Park is a publicly protected, elliptical area encompassing much of the northeastern lobe of Upstate New York. It is the largest park and the largest state-level protected area in the contiguous United States, and the largest National Historic Landmark. The park covers some 6.1 million acres, a land area roughly the size of Vermont and greater than the National Parks of Yellowstone, Yosemite, Grand Canyon, Glacier, and Great Smoky Mountains combined.

Blue Mountain (New York)

Blue Mountain is a peak in the Adirondack Mountains of New York State in the United States. Located east of Blue Mountain Lake, Hamilton County, the peak reaches a height of 3750 ft/1143m. For hiking, the elevation gain is 1,559 feet (475 meters) and the trail length is four miles. The trailhead elevation is 2,200 feet (670.56 meters). It is the location of the Blue Mountain Fire Observation Station, listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2001.
