Robert Moses State Park (Thousand Islands)

Robert Moses State Park - Thousand Islands is a New York state park located on Barnhart Island in the St. Lawrence River and adjacent parts of the Town of Massena in St. Lawrence County. The park is north of the Village of Massena. The park is at the international boundary between the United States and Canada. The park is named after long-time New York Parks Commissioner Robert Moses, who created many of the state parks in New York. It is one of two state parks in New York to bear his name.

Massena, New York

Massena is a town in St. Lawrence County, New York, United States. The town is on the northern border of the county and is nicknamed "The Gateway to the Fourth Coast". The population was 12,883 at the 2010 census. The town of Massena contains a village also called Massena. The town and its village are named after André Masséna, a general and Marshal of France during the Napoleonic Wars.

Grasse River

The Grasse River or Grass River (per 1905 decision of the U.S. Board on Geographic Names) is a 73-mile-long river in northern New York, in the United States. The river was named after François Joseph Paul de Grasse, comte de Grasse (1722–1788), a French admiral who assisted American forces during the Battle of Yorktown in the Revolutionary War. The river mainly flows northeast from the foothills of the Adirondack Mountains into the St. Lawrence Valley, making up what is known as the greater St.
